Bespoke Joinery Design

Fitted furniture designed specifically for your space.

Bespoke cabinetry can completely transform the way a room looks and functions.

From wardrobes and dressing rooms to media units, home offices, libraries and statement furniture, Muse Design creates fitted furniture around the architecture of your home, your storage requirements and the way you use the space.

Our specialist knowledge of cabinetry allows us to consider not only how the finished piece will look, but its proportions, internal organisation, materials, functionality and how it can be practically manufactured.

Our Bespoke Joinery Design service can include:

  • Fitted wardrobes
  • Walk-in wardrobes and dressing rooms
  • Media units

INITIAL DESIGN CONSULTATION

We begin by understanding the room, your requirements and how you intend to use the cabinetry.

We will consider:

  • What needs to be stored
  • Internal organisation
  • Furniture and equipment requirements
  • Available space
  • Architectural features
  • Style and aesthetic preferences
  • Materials and finishes
  • Lighting
  • Practical requirements
  • Budget considerations

DESIGN DRAWINGS

Your completed kitchen design includes a coordinated set of drawings to clearly communicate the proposed design:

  • Proposed kitchen floor plan
  • Dimensioned cabinetry plan
  • Detailed kitchen elevations
  • Principal cabinetry dimensions
  • Appliance locations
  • Key material and finish references

SPACE PLANNING & CABINETRY LAYOUT

We then develop the overall arrangement and proportions of the cabinetry.

Depending on the project, this may include:

  • Cabinet configuration
  • Internal storage layout
  • Shelving
  • Drawers
  • Hanging space
  • Appliance or TV locations
  • Desk areas
  • Display areas
  • Integrated lighting
  • Relationship with existing architectural features

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once the overall arrangement has been established, we develop the character and detailing of the furniture.

This may include:

  • Door style
  • Timber or painted finishes
  • Handles
  • Stone and decorative surfaces
  • Feature panels
  • Open shelving
  • Metal detailing
  • Integrated lighting
  • Decorative mouldings
  • Specialist material combinations

3D VISUALISATION

Your proposed cabinetry will be presented using realistic 3D visuals so you can understand the proportions, materials and overall appearance before manufacture.

DESIGN REFINEMENT

Your service includes two rounds of revisions following presentation of the initial concept.

These revisions are intended to refine the agreed design rather than develop completely different concepts.

Significant changes to the original brief or additional design options can be quoted separately.

DESIGN PRESENTATION & SPECIFICATION

Once approved, your Bespoke Joinery Design Pack will include as applicable:

  • Final cabinetry layout
  • Dimensioned elevations
  • Relevant sections/details
  • Final 3D visuals
  • Proposed materials and finishes
